This is half of a marble, washed up on Royston Beach (known locally as "Brick Beach") in Edinburgh. It's much like the type of marble traditionally found in the neck of the old Codd bottles which held carbonated drinks, but it's hard to say whether it's that or one from a child's slingshot in perhaps the 1960s. The back of the textured sterling silver setting is open to let the light through and to showcase the original markings of where the marble was split upon the rocks by the waves. The pendant is mounted on 3 sterling silver rings and placed on a 18"/45cm sterling silver chain.
